A day off to play around in the studio…

Today I’m taking a day off to tailor a few garments for friends. I’m also taking some time to play around with some of the leftover fabrics from my Fall 09 collection, to see what else I can do with them. Everyone seems to love the fringe necklaces I’ve been making so I thought I’d start from there and make a ruffle version with some leftover fabric.

I started with a long, raw edge rectangular strip of fabric, stitched it down the middle, gathered it, then sewed it onto a zipper base, and finally hand tacked it down so everything stays in place. I’m happy with the prototype, and will be posting a version on my etsy shop later this weekend when I’ve added a few finishing touches.
