Model casting
After working for months making clothing, it’s time to find pretty girls to wear the clothing down the runway. After all, it’s not going to walk itself!
I’ve spent two days casting with the fashion director of The Green Shows, Bahar Shahpar, who will also be showing her own collection. It amazes me how subjective the world of modeling is, and how everyone chooses to cast their shows so differently from one another. Which is a good thing, I guess, because otherwise the same 20 girls would walk every single runway show.
After a few hours of frantic emailing, calling and texting agents, I got 5 of the 7 girls I need for the show, and lost 3 that I wanted… so I’m still looking for 2 but I feel I’m in pretty good shape. I originally wanted a wide variety of girls, with different skin, hair and shapes, but I ended up with 5 girls who almost look the same, so I’m going to run with it and turn them into Study-clones, manufactured specifically to show this collection. Why not make it all about the clothes, after all?!
