We are working on a brand new childrenswear collection for SS12 called Study & Play. We recruited Hanh Lam from Parsons – our very first Parsons intern, as a matter of fact! – to develop the collection using styles from the SS12 collection.
Recognize them? Soon they’ll be available in big and little sizes. Spring 12 will be all about mother / daughter, big sis / little sis matchy-matchy time. Who knew I had such a corny side?
Have you heard of Pecha Kucha? If not, you should know about it!
I attended a very interesting Pecha Kucha event last night focused on urban design and development in New York City. Between all the hateful snickering against The Edge building in Williamsburg (to which I say amen!) I actually learned a lot about future plans to green and improve the city. It was beyond inspiring. I also discovered that most city planners are actually very entertaining people.
I’ll leave you with this very interesting image from the Welikia Project of a Muir web… which may or may not end up being inspiration for the Fall 2012 collection!
To celebrate Fall International Playground has curated a collaboration between Osborn and all of their designers. We each got to design a shoe using the classic Osborn oxford shape. These shoes are being produced in limited editions of 12 pairs per designer. In our case, we went a little crazy and designed 12 different pairs, so no two are exactly alike… meaning each pair is unique and one of a kind!
Designers who created the shoes include:
Mary Meyer, Chromat, H Fredriksson, Upstate, RHLS, Soulland, Capsule and of course STUDY!
They will be released tomorrow evening, September 8th, at International Playground for Fashion’s Night Out. But get there early if you want a pair, I have a feeling they’ll disappear quickly (and I think I’ll have something to do with that!)
